Aaron,
Have a look at http://www.openbsd.org/amd64.html and
http://www.openbsd.org/i386.html which both mention support for "32-Bit
CardBus PC Cards".
Also just to let you know, there is a Seattle area BSD User Group (but no
meetings in a long time) that has a mailing list:

Depends on the BSD -- FreeBSD has many modules and suggests using them.
