Or maybe the much more interesting read paper tape and catch fire  
sequence in the NCR 315-100 (ca 1965).  If you read paper tape a line*  
at a time with the wrong lag between reads, you could in fact get the  
brake hot enough to set the tape on fire.

*a paper tape line is one row of punches across the tape, called a  
character by we who didn't know better.
