industry.<br><br></i>I think the point was cheap and text based. Most phones carry contracts and *i believe* require a voice plan before you can add other features. I can forsee myself, wanting mobile texting device that is secure but would not require other services or charges.<br>

Really though, pagers are an extremely insecure way of sending data to<br>

clear-text and can be intercepted. There are even web services which<br>
intercept pager messages and post them online.<br>
